I'm sad to say I've not had the energy or finances to print and send cards this year as I have for the past 3 years, perhaps next year...
I continue to write, take photos on my daily walks and paint when I can. I've had both great encouragement and rotten behaviour towards myself and my creative practices this year - I shall focus on the positives here.
In April I took part in a Kathy Fish Fast Flash Workshop, a fabulous boost to my writing - which I recommend. From this workshop an online crit group was formed by Brandy Wilkinson - thanks to her, and Didi Wood, LL Madrid, Jolene McIlwain, Jules Archer, Lis Ingram-Wallace and Rachel Newcombe for their insightful feedback and trusting me with their own words. Also, as always, thanks to Voima Oy and David Burns for their feedback, support and encouragement.
During the 2nd half of 2017 I have, among the many rejections, been delighted to have the following published online - a big thank-you to all the Editors who took a chance with my work: 'Suck' - flash fiction in Occulum. 'To Bring the Sky Down' - poetry in Luna Luna, 'Purpurea' - flash fiction in Luna Luna, 'The Ghosts of a Thousand Larks' - hybrid poetry in Moonchild Magazine, 'Blue Star - Shooting Through' - prose in Wild Hunt Magazine. And the following published in print: 'Lost' - flash fiction in 'One' - an anthology of flash fiction from Ellipsis Zine, and 'Mabon Girl' - short story in Calen Dark an anthology of horror from Steph Ellis and David Shakes. For more details of forthcoming writing - please see my writing page here.
