As I write, Storm Henry is raging over Scotland; already this year we have had floods, gales and snow. Many people have lost their homes and businesses. Bowie, Rickman, Wogan, and many of those whose names are not engrained in our collective psyche, but are, nonetheless, just as dear to us, have passed on. Plants and trees are flowering too early, warmth and ice alternate in the howling gales. I am reminded of the film, Koyaanisqatsi: Life Out of Balance, and dig my heels into the earth and wait.
One Foot at a Time - I challenge myself this month to paint some larger pieces, these will be at least a foot square, one a week might be a good goal. Above, is Liminal - a painting which began its journey to its new home this January - this is the size of painting I hope to be working on this month.
Reading Status: In my stack of gorgeous books to read, I have: The Outrun by Amy Liptrot, The Velocipede Races by Emily June Street, Watermark by Joseph Brodsky and Make Me by Lee Child.
Writing Status: The 3rd Flashdogs Anthology will be published this month, I have 3 flash fiction stories and one collaborative flash fiction story, in this volume. This will be published as an eBook and as a printed book - details on how to order here, all royalties go to the Book Bus Charity.
Wildcard Status: My Etsy shop now has 90 paintings in it (come visit!) - this is still a small proportion of the pieces available on my website. I have had some help with my SEO and keywords, a dark art, from the fabulous Imogen at Umbrella Digital Media.
Painting Status: Just spent my Christmas money on new paint!!!! The One Foot at a Time challenge has begun.
