The winter solstice has come and gone here in Scotland, it has been unusually warm for this time of year, but we now have snow forecast in the next few days. Christmas is whirling closer - a mad, commercialised carnival of over-consumtion. The summing up of the year gone by, and resolutions for 2014, seem vague and far off still.
On Tumblr (micro-blogging site - where I post my work here) - I had two paintings (Blue Moon Fades and a Daily Painting - see below) chosen by the art editors and tagged 'artists on tumblr' - then - my painting 'Bad Moon Rising' (below far right) was picked up by Tumblr Radar - this means that my blog was seen by a much larger audience than normal. This is the second time this has happened this year - it is a HUGE HONOUR, and I am delighted, a wee gold star - a fabulous gift.
On the less than good side of the scales this week - my Facebook page is floundering - I can see from the statistics Facebook provide that some posts are only seen by around 6 people. This may be due to Facebook wanting us to pay for advertising, or it may be due to an algorithm which stops showing posts to folk who don't interact with a page - whatever the reason I am considering closing the page, time is precious, and prodding at followers is not my thing.
Hat Status: where's my Santa hat?
Painting Status: holding steady with the daily paintings, masses of ideas for more finished work.
Writing Status: this is it
Reading Status: the tower of lovely books waiting to be read grows taller
Merry Christmas to all when it arrives,
F. E. Clark, 22nd December, 2013.
